About Me

My Photo
I have been a crafter of all sorts for many years, and really love working with Paper and Threads. I am loving the design work I am doing now. I really seem to be getting back into my "art", even if I am doing it by computer now, instead of actually getting dirty while drawing. ;-) I have been avid about Thread Arts since I was a kid, learning to Crochet at 7, then Knit, Embroider, Needle Lace and finally Needle Tat. I love to design as well and am looking forward to taking the Needle Tatting that further step as well.

Trinket Box

Here is another box that I made with tatting on the lid.  This one is made using a Paper Maché box that is 3" in diameter and 1-1/2" tall.  The box has first been painted gold then had gold tissue paper decoupaged onto the outside surfaces and over the lip to the inside where it is then felt lined with black felt.  I tatted the medallion with size 80 Lizbeth thread in Autumn Spice and sewed the medallion to two layers of felt along with gold seed beads and iridescent green bugle beads.
Autumn Spice Beaded Trinket Box $5.00 USD

I purchased lots of these round boxes as well as some hexagonal boxes so if you have a color scheme you would like to see, just let me know.

Tatted Doilies

I've been having fun finishing a bunch of UFO's (Un-Finished Objects) ;-p.  These UFO's were all doilies that I had started and then put aside when I found something a bit more interesting that I just HAD to make up right then...lol  Last January I set a goal of finishing all of the doilies that I had started sometime the year before, but it wasn't until the very last week of the year that I even got to work on them. :-O  I finished all 3 of them though with one day to spare...lol

All of my doilies are lightly starched to hold their shape and will be shipped as flat as possible or rolled around a paper towel roll if too large to mail flat.

This is the Arches Doily, pattern by Marilee Rockley (have you noticed yet how much I REALLY like Marilee's designs?)  The doily is tatted with size 30 thread and is 6.5" across.

Arches  $6.50 USD

This doily is the Blue Ribbon Doily and is also tatted with size 30 thread.  This is actually the second shuttle tatting project I started....even though it isn't the second one I finished....lol  The finished doily measures 10.25" across.
Blue Ribbon Doily  $15.00 USD

This is the Lucky Clover doily and is tatted in an unknown thread.  I believe it is a size 30 but as it did not have any label on the roll I have no way of really knowing for sure.  If it isn't a 30 then it is a 40 as it is finer than any 20 I have.  The finished size of this doily is 10.5" across.
Lucky Clover Doily  $15.00 USD

Bright "Duchess"

I just LOVE this pattern by Marilee Rockey!  This one is done in one of my HDT's called Springtime which is a nice bright Spring green along with some yellow and a touch of light blue.  The beads are a terrific match for the thread used.  Necklace length is 21", including clasp.  Earrings are made from a single repeat of the pattern used in the necklace and are 1-1/2" wide by 2" long (not including earring wire)  Earrings have been stiffened to hold their shape nicely as they are larger than most of my earrings.

Duchess in Springtime HDT  $20.00 USD

If you like this pattern as much as I do but would like to see it in a different color, just drop me a line and I'd be happy to make one up just for you in your color scheme/s.

Heads Up....BIG Change Coming at the End of November

I'm sorry to have to say that due to finances, that at the end of November I am going to have to remove all of the Digital files from this site....so if there is something you have been wanting to get, you better get it while the gettin' is good.  I am hoping to be able to put most (if not all) of the DR over on CUP, but I have a lot of work to do before I can do that.  I'll keep you all posted on the transfer.

My "tangible" goods will still be available.  The shopping cart may be down for a bit, depending on how much work is involved in switching the system, but they will still be available even if the cart isn't funcioning...just send me an email with the item(s) wanted and I'll send you a separate e-bill payable by Paypal for them.

Sorry for any inconvenience this causes anyone.

Edited to add: This is December 1 and I have now deleted all of the DR from my site.  I will be doing some editing on them and the ones that I can I'll be putting up on CUP this month.

As of this moment, there is no shopping cart on most of the items.  Don't let that stop you if you want any of them.  Just send me an email letting me know which one/s you want and I'll send you an e-bill.  This applies even to the stuff that is SOLD I am very happy to re-make anything I have put up on my blog for a special order.

Edited to add: December 7th and I have all the new cart buttons up as well as all the new tatting that I have been doing lately.  I'm still working on getting the DR posted up on CUP  Hopefully from now on I'll be able to keep up better with my site.  Thank you all for your support and I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year.

Frivole's Regal Snowflake

I'm such a lucky duck, getting to be the Test Tatter for Frivole's new snowflakes!  Have you ever SEEN such realistic snowflakes that don't make you want to go BRRRR!?

This one is called Regal and the pattern for it can also be found on her Etsy Shop.   For this first one, I followed the pattern for bead placement.  This one is tatted using size 20 thread and using iridescent 4mm bicone beads.  (she changed the name since I edited my photos...lol)
Regal Snowflake $5.00 USD

I couldn't resist adding beads to all the areas suggested in the finished pattern plus more...lol  This one is tatted with size 10 thread, size 11 and size 6 seed beads and 6mm bicone beads.
Regal Snowflake - fully beaded  $5.00 USD

Le Flocon Frivole on a Jar Lid

I have really been enjoying making Frivole's Snowflakes (Flocon).  This one is tatted with one of Lizbeth's new colors Blue Ice size 40.  The jar is 3" in diameter and 3" tall.  The inside of the jar and lid are lined with plain white felt.  The felt on the lid top is iridescent felt and the snowflake is tacked on to it along with 2 colors of bugle beads and a silver lined light blue seed bead.  Iridescent white ribbon has been glued all around the lid rim and iridescent white tissue paper has been decoupaged onto the outside of the jar.  Between layers of decoupage glue I have added a little bit of light blue glitter.
Jar with Le Flocon Frivole  $8.00 USD

Soon I will have more of this type thing but they will be on Paper Maché boxes instead of the plastic jar as I can't find anymore of these jars that wouldn't make the finished piece too expensive.  If anyone has a jar similar to this they would like to send me to decorate for them, send me an email with the specifics and we can work something out.
